A solo exhibition of Robert Ryan’s current work will be presented by Limerick City Gallery running from June 20th to August 25th 2019. To celebrate this exhibition Lough Gur Development in conjunction with LCG will host a talk by Robert to discuss this exhibition, the inspiration and origins for this work and the life of an artist in 2019 Ireland. Robert lives and works from his studio in Lough Gur. Lough Gur is a small placid lake, surrounded by rugged limestone hills and deciduous woodland. it has been continuously inhabited since the arrival of neolithic people five thousand years ago and is of outstanding archaeological significance. Ruins and artefacts from many periods of Irish history have been found there. The evocative qualities of this environment have been a constant source of inspiration for Robert Ryan. This talk will take place at Lough Gur Heritage Centre.
